Meet Our Team

Our founding partner, Michael (“Mike”) Kennedy, had firsthand knowledge in areas critical to our clients’ needs when he founded the firm in 1999. Mike successfully founded, owned, and operated a prosperous business, worked for both the Internal Revenue Service and the Minnesota Department of Revenue, and gained a decade of valuable financial experience with a public accounting firm. Mike now uses this diverse array of knowledge to augment our firm’s legal services and better serve our clients. 

Attorney Scott A. Ruhsam primarily practices in estate planning, probate litigation and business transactions. Scott previously worked in government relations for a non-profit organization and served as in-house counsel for a midsize, closely held business before joining our firm. Scott joined Mike as a Partner of Kennedy & Ruhsam Law Offices, P.A. in 2020, having been on the team since 2003.
